Samir was named Senior Manager for Commercial Airplanes (BCA) International Operations in November 2005. He is responsible for providing support to BCA on international sales campaigns and other issues affecting commercial airplanes business in Russia, Central Asia, and South/Southeast Asia. He also supports Washington, DC Operations and Commercial Airplanes management by monitoring and following relevant regulatory and policy issues to help advance business goals and objectives in Washington DC.
Prior to this position, Samir completed Boeing's 2-year leadership development program, the Enterprise Auditor Program. In this role, he led and participated in several comprehensive reviews of Boeing's businesses and programs in Integrated Defense Systems, Commercial Airplanes, Phantom Works and Boeing Corporate. From 2001 to 2003, he served as Manager, Business Development with Boeing Air Traffic Management, where he was responsible for market shaping opportunities with the Federal Aviation Administration, NASA and the TSA.
Samir started his career as an Operations Research Analyst with the CNA Corporation, performing airspace analysis, modeling and simulation as a contractor to the FAA's Office of Air Traffic Airspace Management. He earned his BS in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego and his MS in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a certificate in Airport Systems Planning and Design from MIT and is a graduate of the Center for Creative Leadership.
A native of Southern California, Samir is married to his wife, Sujata, and has a newborn son, Sonan. The family resides in Herndon, VA.
