Private USUBC Luncheon with DTEK CEO Maksim Timchenko in Washington

USUBC hosted in Washington a private working luncheon with Maxim Timchenko, CEO, DTEK, a long-time member of USUBC. A small group of experts discussed the prospectives for Ukrainian energy sector and summarized most visible achievements in US-Ukrainian cooperation in this field.
Mr. Timchenko shared a very informative presentation about DTEK priorities and energy strategy of Ukraine, spoke about challenges and plans for the nearest future, such as increase of coal production, import diversification and renewable energy development.
DTEK is Ukraine’s largest energy group with assets in coal mining, electricity generation and distribution, alternative energy and gas production. Their companies operate in 11 regions of Ukraine, employ over 75, 000 people. DTEK supplies electricity and heat to 3.3 million households and over 82,500 industrial companies.
Kirill Ermichine, Head of Department for International Public Affairs, DTEK; and Jock Mendoza-Wilson, Director, International and Investor Relations, System Capital Management (SCM) also participated in the meetings. SCM is also a member of USUBC.
